With six folding maps and plans to volume II. Contemporary tan full calf, with gilt titles to contrasting red and green labels, as well as further gilt decoration to spines. All edges and endpapers marbled. Bookseller's label to front pastedown of each volume. Black ink ownership to first blank of each volume. Crisp and clean, but a little musty. Top and fore edges faded. Spines toned, with some rubbing and bumping to bindings. Very good. The first two parts of Abbott's magnum opus, presenting a critical view of the available ancient sources for early Greek history. Not including volume III, covering the period 445-403 B.C.
