With a colour illustrated frontispiece. Publisher's red cloth with black titles, and red, green, blue and pink decoration to spine and upper. With the illustrated dust-jacket priced at 1/6. Heavily browned cheap paper stock. Bookplate of Curtiss Taylor to front pastedown. Jacket toned, more heavily to spine and back cover, with some chipping to edges, completely split between the rear panel and the rear flap. Very good. An adventure and romance set during the Greek War of Independence in the late 1820's, culminating in a showdown with Cretan pirates. First published in English in 1885. Item #57138
