Also signed in black ink to fly-leaf of volume II. With 55 maps, including some folding, and 26 double-sided black and white photographic plates, as well as a photographic frontispiece to each volume. Publisher's black cloth with silver titles to spine. Both volumes with the black dust-jacket titled in red and white, priced at 70s for the set. Some spotting and toning to edges and endpapers. Some light rubbing to cloth of volume II. Jackets lightly toned to spines with light bruising and chipping to edges of volume I. Volume II more heavily worn to jacket joints and corners, with a large section lost towards the spine head. Very good. The official history of the Royal Tank regiment, written by Britain's foremost military strategist of the Second World War. The gift inscription is addressed to Capt. R.W. Thompson (1904-1977), who was a journalist, war correspondent, and later an author of books on military history, to which Liddell Hart here refers. Item #56897
