London: For The Crime Club by Collins, 1958. [Crime Fiction] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.256. Publisher's red cloth, titled in black, with typographical dust-wrapper priced at 10/6. Jacket very lightly nicked; a near fine copy of what appears to be a trial jacket - this one with a hot press-type finish and with brighter shade of orange, also priced at 10/6 whereas the book was published at 12/6. The folds indicate it may have been around a proof copy at some stage. One for the Christie completist. A novel concerning retrospective or belated justice which brings murder into a truly domestic setting, 'Ordeal By Innocence' was one of the author Agatha Christie's own favourites. Basis for the chilling movie starring Faye Dunaway and Donald Sutherland. Item #55801
