The Shockwave Rider.

New York, NY: Harper and Row Publishers, 1975. [Science fiction] AUTHOR'S OWN COPY, FIRST US EDITION. Octavo (21 x 15cm), pp.[10]; 288; [6]. Publisher's yellow quarter cloth over black paper covered boards, titles in black to spine, fore edge deckled, brown endpapers. Striking dust-jacket designed by Luba Litwak with an illustration by Creston Ely, with printed price of $8.95. Author's bookplate to pastedown. Light spotting to edges. Cloth a little rubbed and marked. Wrapper rubbed to edges, some marks and closed tears. Very good. A dystopia set in a world struggling to cope with the rapid pace of technological development. With a hint of one of the story lines in the later abortive television series 'Firefly', one subject of a government project creating 'improved' humans manages to escape, and later attacks the system from within.
