Creeper's Jeep.

Tadworth: World's Work, the Windmill Press, 1973. [Children's Illustrated] REISSUE. Small quarto (24 x 20cm), unpaginated, with colour illustrations printed by offset to every page. Illustrated endpapers. Publisher's colour-illustrated paper-covered boards, with black cloth to spine. With the matching dust-jacket. Black ink gift inscription to verso of flyleaf. Price-clipped jacket has some bruising and small closed tears to edges, with some more significant chips to top edge of front cover. Very good. The story of a brave and helpful jeep won at a fair by an unfortunately-named day-dreaming child, who narrowly avoids having his favourite companion sold off for scrap when it manages to raise itself from the dead and break out all the farm animals trapped in a burning barn. First published in the US in 1948 by the author of 'Little Toot' (1939). Item #55643
