With 45 engraved plates including a frontispiece and vignette title page, most hand-coloured, as well as a folding map of the county. Contemporary or lightly later tan half calf with gilt titles to contrasting red and black labels to spine, further gilt tooling to spine, and marbled paper over boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. Typed ownership label to front flyleaf. A tear to one fold of the map. One plate excessively trimmed. Heavy rubbing and bumping to binding. Very good. Few if any copies in this series seem to have been issued with all 50 plates as advertised. This copy has particularly nice hand-colouring. Item #55550
