Publisher's green cloth blocked to resemble a half morocco binding with gilt titles to spine, top edge gilt. Cheap paper stock a little toned and brittle with the occasional mark. Binding lightly rubbed to extremities. Very good. A Study In Scarlet (1887) was the first Sherlock Holmes novel, and features the initial meeting and debut case for the great amateur detective Sherlock Holmes with his new-found colleague; the narrator Dr. John Watson.
