Number 464 of just 500 copies in this edition, printed on Van Gelder's vellum paper. Publisher's black cloth with gilt titles to upper board; blind to spine. Top edge gilt; others untrimmed. Marbled endpapers. Browning to preliminaries and edges; spotting to frontispiece. Some rubbing to cloth, and pulling to head and tail of spine. Repairs to upper joint / hinge. Titles to spine may once have been in gilt, but no longer. Good. A series of articles concerning the medical histories of notable French statesmen, including Louis XI, Richelieu, Louis XIV, Madame de Pompadour, Dr. Guillotin, Robespierre, and Napoleon.
