Page 514 in 'Paradise Lost' misnumbered 524. With the copper engraved frontispiece by George Vertue to 'Paradise Lost.' Also including a 'Life' of the author by Elijah Fenton. Trimmed and rebound in late nineteenth century full speckled calf with raised bands, gilt titles to burgundy labels, and further gilt tooling to spines and boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. Black ink ownership to (supplied) first blank of each volume. Large loss to margin of pp.43/44 of 'Paradise Lost,' just brushing up against the text. Some browning and spotting to both volumes. 'Paradise Regain'd' more heavily trimmed, making the the volumes uniform. Rubbing to spines and board edges; joints rubbed and starting, but holding firm. Very good. All Milton's major works in an attractive uniform later binding. Item #54246
