Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. J. K. ROWLING, born 1965.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

London: Bloomsbury, 1999. [Fantasy] FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, second issue (see below). Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.317; [5]. The third novel in the Hogwarts series. Publisher's pictorial hardcovers in dust-jacket illustrated by Cliff Wright, priced at £10.99. Signed twice by the artist, to both his front panel and rear panel illustrations. A lovely fine copy. Shows extremely well. The first issue states 'Copyright Joanne Rowling' on the copyright page, whereas the second and third issue are amended to 'J.K Rowling'. The first issue also has a misaligned text block 'burnt (drop) so much' p.7, which is corrected in the subsequent issues. Second and third issue identical but for adverts included at the rear of the third issue. All three issues feature full strike-line numbers and are therefore 'states' or 'issues' rather than separate impressions. Item #54016
