Publisher's paper wrappers with titles to front cover and spine, and a list of recent publications dated February 1924 to rear cover. Fore and lower edges untrimmed. Rubbing to joint and edges; spine browned. Blue ink ownership to half title page. Upper joint has a 3cm split at the top, some marks to wrappers. Very good. A late but major Wells fantasy novel which first appeared serially in Nash's and Pall Mall Magazine (October 1923 to May 1924). The Tauchnitz copyright edition is dated 1924 to the title page, making this an early printing. Item #53868
