Each title with eight engraved illustrations by various artists, some with postscripts by Dickens dated 1868. Contemporary tan half calf with raised bands, gilt titles to black labels on spines, further gilt tooling to spines, and green textured cloth over boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. Each volume with a black ink stamp of William Gray, Durham, to verso of flyleaf. Generally clean internally, with very occasional light spotting, and some dark ink staining to top edge of 'Pickwick.' A rough hinge repair to pp.358-362 in 'David Copperfield'; a gathering at pp.19-30 of 'Martin Chuzzlewit' coming loose. Bindings lightly rubbed and bumped, with a few small marks and stains.
