The final summation of Comte's vast project to synthesise the whole of modern human history and found a replacement for the moribund Monotheistic religions of the West, first published in French in 1851-1854. His project began with the drafting of 'Positive Philosophy' (complete by 1848), which aimed to 'show the intellectual superiority of Positivism over all forms of Theology.' Having built his case from elemental principles upwards in the former books, this last great work aims to present the principles of the new religion in a systematic and detailed form. Item #53320
