London: Jonathan Cape, 1967. [Counter-culture] UNCORRECTED PROOF COPY in oversized PROOF-ONLY dust-wrapper. Octavo (20 x 13cm), pp.328. Publisher's lime-green softcovers in jacket, with 'PROOF ONLY' in bold to rear with provisional publication date below. Unlike the published jacket, the proof wrapper is not glazed. Some minor wear to unsupported/oversize areas of the jacket else a fine copy of an elusive proof; this is only the second copy in the proof wrapper we have encountered. Amusing guide to swinging London; where to get a sixpenny shave at two in the morning; where to buy snake steaks, where to hire a barrel organ and where to find the nearest nudist colony. Only 5600 copies of the hardcover were published, the proof print run would have been a fraction of this. Scarce. Item #53115
