London: James Carpenter and Son, 1830. [Painting] LEATHER BOUND, a New Edition. Three parts bound in one volume. Quarto (28 x 22cm), pp.[6]; 31; [1]; pp.viii; 45 [1]; pp.iii-xii; 64; [4]. With 25 engraved plates, eight being hand-coloured. Contemporary brown half calf, later rebacked with the original spine label laid on. Internally clean with just some light occasional spotting. Some wear and scuffing to boards and leather. Very good. Burnet was a Scottish portrait and landscape painter, originally apprenticed as an engraver and later based in London. This series of painting manuals was originally published between 1822 and 1827. Item #52810
