Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

London: Bloomsbury, 1999. [Childrens' fiction] FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.317; [5]. Publisher's pictorial hardcovers in dust-jacket. No inscriptions or price clipping; usual faint marking to endpapers which affects this issue. Fine. Third in the Hogwarts series. This is the third of three first edition issues; the first noting 'Copyright Joanne Rowling' on the copyright page, and the second and third being amended to 'J.K. Rowling'. The first issue also has a misaligned text block 'burnt (drop) so much' p.7, which is corrected in the subsequent issues. Second and third issue identical but for adverts included at the rear of the third. All three issues, totalling 5,150 copies, feature full strike-line numbers and are therefore 'issues' rather than separate impressions. All are now scarce. Item #52623
