The Six Charming Children plates were originally published by S. and J. Fuller in 1819, and ten further colour-printed engravings by Thomas Rowlandson are copied in facsimile from 'Characteristic Sketches of the Lower Orders' (1820). Other engravings reproduced here are copied from printers of the same period, including Charles Phillips; James Catnach and J. Lumsden, and more recent cuts are printed directly from the blocks.
