This title records the debate between Doyle, the rationalist-medic-turned-spiritualist, and McCabe, the lapsed-Catholic-priest-come-humanist, and as such marks one of the most interesting aspects of Doyle's career. The debate was initiated by the Rationalist Press Association, who invited Doyle to debate with McCabe on the matter, and the proceeds from the debate and the sale of the pamphlet were split between the organisations represented by the two men.
