London: J.M. Dent and Sons Ltd., 1920. [Modern literature] COLONIAL ISSUE of the First English Published Edition, not to be confused with the Private edition (40 copies) also in limp covers. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.416. Original thick card covers employing the same artwork as the dust-wrapper for the hardcover, priced 9/- to spine, heavy grey paper endleaves. Fore-edge and tail untrimmed, spine a little rolled with a chip to foot, moderate wear as expected for a fragile paperback. With the appearance of a Proof or Advance copy, this is in fact a seemingly scarce colonial softcover edition (Wheeler of Alahabad stamp to half-title). Not recorded by Wise and not included in the Stanley J Seeger collection of Conrad. Item #52148
