Contemporary black half morocco with raised bands and gilt titles to spine. Leather-grain effect cloth over boards. Marbled endpapers; all edges flecked red. Black ink stamp of the Medical Research Council Library to verso of front free endpaper. No other obvious library markings. Some spotting and marking throughout, shallow crease to the textblock. Some rubbing to outer edges; some chips from head and tail of spine. An old repair to the upper joint, with matching touch-ups to spine chips. Very good. Containing, among many other scientific articles, the first printed appearance in English of Rontgen's discovery of the X-Ray, for which he won the very first Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901.
