Some spotting, damp marks to plates, bookplate to pastedown. Hinges starting. Binding somewhat rubbed and worn, damp mark to foot of spine. Good. Marryat's book features a young street urchin and his struggle in daily life in Greenwich. The book describes how the boy grows up to become a wealthy pilot on the Thames. The name 'Poor Jack' comes from a nickname given by mudlarks to their chief. Item #51866
