Spotting to textblock edges and to endpapers, blue ink ownership inscription on free endpaper, binding slightly weak to pp.176-177, a few small closed tears and chips to edges of dust-jacket, large chip to head of jacket spine, slight toning to spine. From the author of the novels Babbit and Cass Timberlane, Kingsblood Royal focuses on the themes of racial discrimination in America. Lewis was the first writer from the US to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1930. Lewis' novel played a part in contributing to the civil rights movement. Item #51449
