Original grey paper covered boards, cream paper spine, with title label, edges untrimmed and some leaves unopened. Four engraved plates and numerous tables throughout. Small circle clipped from title page, perhaps removing an ownership stamp, some spotting to the plates and adjacent pages. Binding rubbed and marked, joints a little worn, numbered label to spine. An unusual survival in the original boards. Near fine. A collection of articles including: by Benjamin H Latrobe (1764-1820), the 'father of American architecture' who designed the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.; by J. Priesetly on Darwin and "Spontaneous Generation"; and by A. Ellicott on a Lunar Eclipse. Item #51422
