Item #50741 Catalogue from Big Pic Box / The Beauty of Our Weapons. Andrew HOLMES, born 1947.

Catalogue from Big Pic Box / The Beauty of Our Weapons.

London: Architectural Association, 1988. FIRST (and only) EDITION. A 24-page square catalogue (12 x 12 inches), illustrated throughout in colour and black and white. Fine condition. A scarce automotive/industrial/architectural item. Andrew Holmes is Britain's best-known super-realist painter and graphic designer. He is also an architect and one of the original Richard Rogers four-person practice, a long time unit master at the Architectural Association and latterly at the University of Westminster. Encompassing drawing, printmaking, photography, film and design, his work explores the apparently anonymous mobile infrastructure of cities, particularly the American metropolis. The present item is the catalogue for an installation in Bedford Square in June 1988. It originally accompanied the Big Pic Box, which included eighteen colour plates, complete copies of which are currently valued around £800 [AA Bookshop, 2018]. Item #50741
