"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me."
— C. S. Lewis

London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1922. REGULAR FIRST EDITION and VARIANT FIRST EDITION in publisher's TRIAL BINDING. 2 volumes. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.318; [2], blank. The regular binding in pale blue cloth titled and ruled in dark blue, the advance binding in mid blue cloth more heavily blocked in black. Both have printed map endpapers. Both volumes very good, with some expected wear and handling, a few marks and soiling, owner name to the standard first. A most uncommon advance or trial issue binding, clearly vetoed in favour of the more familiar version which was uniform with cloth bindings for similar-era Buchan titles, including The Three Hostages.
