Contemporary polished calf with gilt double rules, gilt titles to black leather square to spine, later plain brown endpapers. Profusely illustrated with a steel engraved frontispiece, and a vignette title, 126 fine steel engravings presented two to a page, and a folding engraved map of Kent. Some spotting, mostly to plates and the preliminaries, some worming, small tear to one of the folds of the map, but generally fine internally. Some wear to binding, upper joint neatly repaired.
