With eight section pages exquisitely decorated in colour and gilt, as well as a decorated title page, all making extensive use of gilding. All pages featuring a tripple-ruled border in red. In contemporary brown full morocco with raised bands, gilt titles to spine and upper board, and extensive blind decoration all over. Marbled endpapers, and superb gauffered edges. Gift inscription in black ink to verso of front free endpaper, dated 1932. Small bookplate of English poet Peter Scupham (born 1933) to front pastedown. Black ink ownership inscription to title page, dated 1858. Spotting to prelims and moderate external wear, especially to spine, front joint starting. Good overall.
