In contemporary green full morocco with raised bands, gilt titles to spines and very elaborate gilt floral decoration, including roses coloured in red and white. Red morocco doublures with gilt and purple crown designs, facing red silk over free endpapers. Top edges gilt, others untrimmed. Presented in contemporary green morocco-covered slip-cases with green ribbons and felt lining. Unopened in places. Decorative bookplates of Hannah M. Standish to limitation pages. Spines sunned to tan and lighter green. Some light wear to slip-cases. Very good indeed. A truly rare edition in an exquisite contemporary binding. Hannah M. Standish's set of 77 volumes in this series were sold at an American Art Galleries' sale on the 3rd and 4th March 1926, and have since been dispersed. The limited edition seems to have been made up from various collections of remaindered sheets from editions of the 1880's and 1890's, augmented by fine colour illustrations.
