With eight steel engraved plates including a frontispiece, and several futher in-text engravings, by Charles Copeland. In contemporary tan half calf with raised bands, gilt titles to red label on spine and gilt decoration to spine. Brown cloth boards with gilt stamp of the Queen's School Chester to upper. Marbled edges and endpapers. Blue ink prize inscription to fly leaf, dated 1907. Some light wear to edges; very good overall. First published in 1899. Item #47861
