In near-contemporary blue buckram with gilt titles to spine, drab endpapers, marbled edges. A few marks within but generally clean for a cookery book, bookshop ticket to pastedown, gift inscription and stamp dated 1881 to half title, some shelfwear, joints worn. Very good. A serviceable later edition of Mrs Beeton's classic recipe book, first published in 1861. An indispensable kitchen aid to anyone who has ever wanted to stuff a turkey with a calf's head and boil the whole thing in aspic, or whip up a batch of Walnut Ketchup. Item #47270
