[Hand-made]. [c.1930]. HAND-MADE PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM. Large Quarto, unpaginated. Twenty two thick leaves with b/w photographs pasted to both sides. Eight leaves blank to rear, with one loose photograph. Most images neatly labeled in black ink, from the late 1880's. Black ink inscription to verso of front free end-paper reads: 'Presented to the Vicar's Room / by Mrs Young / July 1930.' In original full black padded morocco, recently re-spined to style with gilt titles. Gilt dentelle to inner fore-edges, with green / gilt patterned end-papers. All edges gilt. Original leather somewhat cracked and degraded around edges, but strong and attractive with new spine. Good overall. A collection of black and white photographs taken in the late 1880's in France, Switzerland and Italy. Most depict Alpine scenes, including glaciers, towns and villages, but there are also some of Paris and Sanremo. Item #46955
