A History of the Weald of Kent. With an Outline of the Early History of the County.

Ashford: Henry Igglesden. 1871-1874. First Edition. Two volumes bound in three parts as issued. Octavo, pp. xvi, 462, pp. xii, 424, pp. iii, 425-935. Bound in the publisher's handsome green cloth with gilt titles to spine, black stamped tooling and gilt motifs to the upper boards, matt brown endpapers. Numerous folding maps. All three volumes have a ownership bookplate to the front pastedown plus a neat ownership inscription to the title page. Some occasional neat pencil annotation to all three volumes. Two of the maps to volume one, and one of the maps to volume three have closed tears near to where they are attached to the textblock. Some dustiness to the edges, mostly to the top edge. Volume one has six bookseller catalogue descriptions affixed to the flyleaf of the set in question listing it's purchase history. All three volumes show slight bumping to the head and tail caps and to the corners. Some light wear to the cloth with occasional marking. All told a very good set. Item #44961
