Colourful bucolic scene featuring mountains, village, villagers and natives. Top edge brown. Black ink signature to front free end paper. Text block clean and crisp, though some staining to edge. Binding worn slightly to edges. Jacket clean and bright, though with some chipping and cracking to top cm of spine. Very good overall - an attractive copy. Sandburg's only novel, 'Remembrance Rock' has been compared to 'War and Peace' in its scope and ambiguity of classification. Many would say it is not a novel at all. Tracking several generations of the same family from the American War of Independence through to the Second World War, the narrative develops grand historical and political concerns. Item #44728
