Bound in full green calf with decorative gilt border to front and rear board, red title label to spine, five raised bands, extra gilt tooling to spine, logo and motto ('Scientiae turrim fortissimam claves aperiunt') of the King Edward VI Grammar School, Totnes emblazoned in gilt on front board, gilt tooling to leather turn-in, blue marbled endpapers and endpapers. Boards in very good condition with limited signs of wear, top board edge rubbed and chipped in one place, fore edge and tail edge vivid, spine faded to brown from sunlight, raised bands showing general shelf wear, school prize award to G.L.
