Publisher's gilt decorated red cloth with pictorial dust-jacket. Ink ownership to half-title, jacket with some chips and tears (one with gummed paper backing). remains an attractive copy. Uncommon in duwt-wrapper. The 'Jungle Books' is a collection of short stories, the best-known being the three tales revolving around the adventures of the abandoned 'man cub' Mowgli who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The most famous of the other stories are probably 'Rikki-Tikki-Tavi', the story of a heroic mongoose, and 'Toomai of the Elephants', the tale of a young elephant-handler. Item #42481
