Minor sunning to extremities, with some light bumping and faint shelfwear, endcaps pushed, cloth is slightly parted at top spine joint of front board, textblock shaken in the case, with gauze-cloth joints showing to inside gutters. Spine sunned to a paler green, gilt tooling remains bright, blind decoration to covers is attractive. Ink ownership to front pastedown, internally clean with minor light spotting in some places. A detailed and fluent examination of the nature of superstition and belief in the uncanny, with numerous anecdotes and attempted interpretations. Scarce and interesting. A very good copy.
