Carpenter / from / John Buchan' and dated 'May 1, 1912' in ink to first free end paper. 8vo; pp.324 + 4 (ads) + 64-page catalogue dated 12/11. A sound and tight copy in publisher's black cloth with gilt titles to spine and upper. Light foxing to fore edge and to a couple of pages; inner hinges starting. Gilt to spine rubbed with head and foot at some point glued to stop wear, although this is not visible. A lovely copy made all the more attractive by the neat signed inscription. A curious collection of strange tales from the acclaimed thriller writer and creator of gentleman spy Richard Hannay. Item #32709
