Sir Quentin Saxby Blake, CBE, FCSD, FRSL, RDI (born 16 December 1932) is an English cartoonist, illustrator and children's writer. He is perhaps best known for illustrating books written by Roald Dahl. In 2002, Blake was awarded biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award (the highest recognition available to creators of children's books) for his lasting contribution to the world of children's book illustration. Moreover, from 1999 to 2001 Blake was the inaugural British Children's Laureate. Today, he remains a patron of the Association of Illustrators.

Blake has written and illustrated 35 of his own books, including: Quentin Blake's ABC (1989), Zagazoo (1998), A Sailing Boat in the Sky (2003), and Daddy Lost His Head (2009).
