Publisher's blue cloth with gilt and black titles and decoration to spine and upper. Both volumes re-backed in blue cloth with the original spines laid over, and volume I converted to a 'tight back.' New light yellow endpapers supplied for volume I; original pale pink endpapers retained in volume II. All edges gilt. Bindings both extremely firm, but somewhat cocked, with some gatherings slightly proud to volume I. Minor tear to margin of p.65/66. Rippling to boards of volume I, and light rubbing and bumping to board edges and corners. Heavy rubbing and toning to both original spines. Restored to a robust, useable condition. Very good.
