The Moon-Voyage. Containing "From the Earth to the Moon," and "Round the Moon."

London: Ward, Lock & Co., no date [circa 1900]. [Science Fiction] VINTAGE COPY, a later edition. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.132; 7-147 [13]. With a half-tone frontispiece by Austin to each of the two parts. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles and red and white decoration to spine and upper. Black-coated endpapers. Blue ink ownership to fly-leaf, with heavy vertical creases. Heavy spotting to edges, and to first and final leaves. Toned with light occasional spotting throughout. A little light wear to cloth. Very good. Another splendid example of Mr. Verne's imaginary sweep, including a giant space-gun, a bullet-spaceship furnished like a high class railway carriage, and a bunch of stalwart chaps careering round in space dressed in frock coats surrounded by an orbiting cloud of broken bottles, food wrappers and dead dogs. All in a day's work for Mr. Verne, although he may have broken his golden rule here and left out either pirates or giant steam powered elephants. This version first published by Ward, Lock & Tyler in 1877. Item #57445
