Publisher's grey cloth with gilt titles to spine, and green and blue decoration to spine and upper. Pencil ownership to front pastedown, and purple ownership stamp to fly-leaf. Extremely browned and brittle throughout, with hinges badly split showing netting. Front fly-leaf nearly detached; chipping to edges. Heavy wear to cloth, with fraying to head and tail of spine, browning to spine, and general grubbiness to boards. Poor. Yellow fog is swirling through the streets of London and Sherlock Holmes himself is sitting in a cocaine-induced haze until the arrival of a distressed and beautiful young lady forces the great detective into action.
