Hewson was a Church of England Curate educated at Cambridge with a particular interest in the Book of Revelation and Prophesy. This highly complex volume of novel exegesis complements his earlier work 'Christianity in its Relation to Judaism and Heathenism' (1860), collected and published after his death by his daughter Frances.
