With the original orange endpapers, as well as the black cloth upper and spine, bound in. Recent black full morocco with raised bands and gilt titles and decoration to spine. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt; fore-edge untrimmed. Gently toned, as usual. Very good. First published in 1927, with the earliest printings sporting an unbroken '3' on p.3. Many of the tales appear here in book form for the first time, following initial publication in various periodicals. Hemingway is remembered for his novels, but it was the short stories which first attracted notice. Item #57303
