INSCRIBED by the author in blue ink to fly-lead: 'Inscribed for her mother, | and with every good wish, | to | Mrs. Lyman Butterfield | by | Rockwell Kent | 1955' with further inscriptions below: 'To Bob and Kitty Breyer | I am so happy to know where | this is going | Betty Butterfield | Oct. 1. 1974'... 'I approve. | Lyman Butterfield.' Publisher's blue cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt device to upper. Fore-edge untrimmed. With the colour-illustrated dust-jacket, priced at $10.00. Light external rubbing, with chipping and a few closed tears to jacket edges. Near fine. An inscription evidently sought by Margaret, wife of the investment banker Cyrus S. Eaton Sr., as a gift to her daughter Elizabeth Butterfield, and then passed on again to friends. Item #57137
