Octavo (21 x 15cm), pp.280 [4]. Publisher's green cloth with gilt titles to spine. With the dust-jacket illustrated by John Ward, priced at 18s. Blue ink ownership to flyleaf. Browning to edges and a little rubbing to cloth. Jacket toned and rubbed to edges, with chips to corners and head and tail of spine, as well as a few small closed tears and heavy rubbing around joints, tape to reverse. Very good. Laurie Lee's autobiographical story of his childhood in a Gloucestershire village in the period just following the Great War, detailing a traditional and simple life which disappeared with developments such as motorised transport.
