Moonraker. Ian Lancaster FLEMING.

Moonraker.

London: Jonathan Cape, 1955. FIRST IMPRESSION, FIRST PRINTING, BINDING A (Fabroleen material). This version with 'shoot' correctly printed to page 10. Octavo, pp.256. Publisher's black cloth-effect paper over boards, titled in silver, in 'flame' design dust-wrapper by Kenneth Lewis priced at 10/6. A moderately used copy with some acceptable marks and toning; marginal spot to seven leaves of section F-G, dust-jacket with a few small nicks, torn loss to blank rear panel matching offset to endpaper (at least showing this wrapper was always paired with this binding), paper tanned as usual, and showing habitual fading of the spine (the usual condition issues inherent with this title). The bibliography states 'the panels are prone to browning and the bright colours suffer from fading' (p.96). Still very good; an inexpensive copy of the third Bond novel, housed in an attractive leather-spined clamshell box. Item #54812
