INSCRIBED by the author in black ink to first blank: 'Cecil James Gladdish Hulkes | from Dr. Haig Brown | for History Paper | Charterhouse form VI | December 6th 1881.' Contemporary blue full morocco with raised bands, gilt titles to spine and a large gilt school crest to upper. All edges gilt; marbled endpapers. Heavy browning to preliminaries and final leaves. Tiny blue label of Stedman's Bookshop to front pastedown. Spine toned and rubbed, with some gentle re-colouring. Some rubbing and bumping to boards. Very good. Item #54462
