Publisher's orange cloth, gilt titles to spine on a dark red panel, top edge orange, dust-jacket designed by F. Quilter with printed price of 63s net. With numerous plates and in-text illustrations, plus maps and family trees loose to the rear. Very light spotting, marking, and toning to edges, cloth lightly handled. Wrapper shows well, some toning, loss to top and bottom of spine panel and some other small chips, front flap clipped but still showing price, a little darkened to spine. Uncommon in wrapper. A fine copy in a very good jacket. Lt-Col H.R.P. Dickson was a respected British colonial administrator and political agent in the Middle East. After retiring from service he represented the Kuwait Oil Company. An accepted member of the Anizzah tribe, he had a detailed knowledge of Bedouin tradition which he described in both this book and Kuwait and her Neighbours (1956). Item #54369
