One small sheet of headed note paper from The Priory, 21 North Bank, Regent's Park, written in purple ink and backed onto a sheet of card (13 x 12cm). George Lewes here writes to Mrs Binyon, informing her that his partner Mary Ann Evans, here referred to as Mrs Lewes, will not accept invitations, and declines to visit Oxford the following day, as she is keen to finish writing a book. He promises instead to come himself. Presented in a grey cloth-covered stiff folder with gilt titles to spine (21 x 16cm). Item #50331
